As we slide into August, there is ... live jazz in Rochester, July 28th to August 3rd

b&w jazz sign

Looks like I'm missing the summer in Rochester. Still with my father in Wichita, Kansas. Hope you're all having a great one and getting out to hear some of the live jazz in and around our fine city.

After the "fold" (click the link if there is one for you) you will find the next seven days of live jazz in and around Rochester. As always, let me know if any regular gigs below are no longer happening or if you have heard of anything that's not in the listings. Check back later in the week for stragglers.

Jazz where life is worth living ... live jazz in Rochester and the burbs

Andy's Jazz Sign

The town of Webster's motto is "Where Live is Worth Living."  I guess that leaves the rest of us out in the cold (or the heat this time of year).  This weekend is the annual Webster Jazz Festival. This year they're splitting it up on Friday and Saturday, with Friday being in various venues around the Village of Webster and Saturday on the street. While this time of year usually has fewer gigs in and around Rochester, there's still lots to pick from, so check them out.

The heat is on in the ... live jazz in Rochester, July 14-20

Jazz SignI hear it's hot in Rochester. I'm sorry, but you don't know hot until you've been in Wichita for June & July. It's been in the 90s (with 100 heat indexes) for it seems a month.  I think you need to get out into some air-conditioned space and hear some hot jazz.  Good thing there is some around town over the next seven days....

Yes, we're seeing XRIJF's backside, but there's still ... Live jazz in ROC, July 7-11

Jazz Sign

Yes, it is over. Yes, I missed it this year (first time in over 10 years) and don't need reminding how great it was this year (I was watching from Wichita and it was painful enough).  Now that the XRIJF is over for another year, let's focus on the live jazz that's happening all around us throughout the year.  Here's your next seven days of jazz in and around Rochester....
