It's Clothesline time folks . . . summer is on the way out, but you can still catch some jazz in Rochester, NY
Live jazz in Rochester... Paradigm Shift & Friends @ Exodus to Jazz

Party down with Jimmie Highsmith and Joseph Wooten

It Is What It Is album coverLocal sax player and my friend Jimmie Highsmith Jr. is turning another year older and, rather than birthday cake and ballons, he really wants to play that funky music with his friends and invites everyone to drop by to listen and get their groove on. Joseph Wooten photoSo this year on September 13th, Tiki J Entertainment and Waterstreet Music Hall are presenting a smooth jazz, funk and soul birthday bash for Jimmie featuring four time Grammy nominee and Grammy winner Joseph Wooten (one of the brothers of bassist Victor Wooten), Rochester, NY's funkiest group Johnny Viviani and Filthy Funk, Freddy Colon on percussion and Beeno and Ronny from neo-soul group Black August. The evening will be MC'd by Diane Conway.

Doors open at 6:30pm. Tickets available at Ticketmaster, The Bop Shop, The Record Archive. If you can't get to one of those, use the email link on this site and I'll forward them to Jimmie and he'll set you up.
