Only one month to the Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival? The Jazz@Rochester coverage begins ...
So much music, so little time: Picking the Jazz@ Rochester itinerary for XRIJF 2011 begins

Jazz Around Town: Ever notice how quiet it gets around Festival season... ?

LilacsWhile there is still a lot of live jazz around over the next week, as it warms up and the festivals start up (can anyone believe it's already time for the Lilac Festival?) there is a lot less live jazz and a lot more karaoke. Still there's some around, so get out to check it out. Perhaps they'll even be playing outside....?

Hey jazz artists, please let me know where you're playing in terms of the festivals!

They played Jazz Street stage last year, very good.

Who do you consider true female jazz experienced vocalist to listen to during the festival from a local level to the national level during the festival? Not those who may play a great instrument and sing a little but are truely experience vocalist? Now Miss Cole is already a given.

I also want to include KD lane and Champion Fulton on the listI would consider those as experienced singers but, who else?

How about the Jay Clayton & Sheila Jordan Group (http://rochesterjazz.com/artist_lineup/?artist_id=499)?
