Exodus to Jazz closes out this season with Eric Person & Metamorphosis on Saturday
April 30, 2012
In the final concert of the Winter-Spring season, Exodus To Jazz will be presenting saxophonist Eric Person and his electric, rhythm & groove project Metamorphosis on Saturday, May 5th at the Lutheran Church of the Reformation at 8:00pm. Person will be joined by keyboardist Adam Klipple, bassist Adam Armstrong and drummer Shinnosuke Takahashi. Person has been on the ETJ stage before with his Meta-Four band, joined by saxophone great Houston Person (no relation).
Eric Person has been described on JazzReview.com as a “one of the best alto & soprano saxophonists working today.” Person has produced eight discs as a leader and is in high demand as a sideman, working with Dave Holland, Chico Hamilton, McCoy Tyner, and John Hicks and the World Saxophone Quarteta among others. He is also in demand on the rock, funk and world music scenes, where he has performed with Vernon Reid, Ben Harper, Ofra Haza and Bootsy Collins to name but a few.
The Lutheran Church of the Reformation is at 111 N. Chestnut St., Rochester. Doors open at 7:00 pm with the concert starting at 8:00 pm. Tickets: Patron-$35 (includes 7:00pm reception and signed poster); Premium seating-$25; General admission-$20. Tickets are available at the door, at all Wegmans Stores until 4:00 pm Friday, May 4th and online at Brownpapertickets.com until 4:00 pm the night of the performance.
