Here we go into February... Jazz90.1 is again celebrating Black History Month by honoring a different African-American jazz musician Monday through Friday throughout the month of February. They will broadcast a biographical piece 4 times a day during the week at 7:40 a.m. 12:40, 4:40, and 8:40 p.m. and repeeat them during weekend jazz programming. Of course there are way more than 28 great African-American jazz artists.

A little improvement in the listings this week, so maybe last week 
I look to City's listings, a few sites of venues that regularly schedule jazz and other sources, including artists who contact us directly and let me know about their gigs. I'm beginning to see a pattern develop of fewer and fewer live jazz gigs around town listed in the sources I often turn to (and in those forwarded to me). It actually may just be this time of year, but City only had 21 listings for the next seven days (and some of those are repeating gigs that are listed every week).
