Hey Greg,
Caught the ISB concert at Eastman/Kodak Hall last night with Ron Carter. The ISB is 99% bass geeks (proud of it, too) which is very different. The Ron Carter Trio did a marvelous job on a number of pieces. Ron makes it look effortless. The classical bassists that were on the same bill were both Eastman School grads and were fine classical artists. Can't imagine a tougher gig than to perform before a room full of knowledgeable bassists and bass teachers.

The highlight was Ron Carter doing a solo encore. He played "You Are My Sunshine" as a solo/improv/jazz variations piece. It was the best solo I've ever heard, and pure bass love was in the house!
