Fairport's Canal Days is coming soon on June 3-5. Spread out over the village of Fairport, Tim Forster and the others responsible for the music at FCD usually serve up a healthy helping of jazz from local musicians and often describe it as the "jazz festival before the jazz festival."  If you get good weather, this is a great place to hang and hear some great music and stretch those RIJF muscles a bit (it's only 3 weeks away!). So, here's the jazz during FCD:

There is other music at Fairport Canal Days, so check out the lineup when you hit the festival to catch other great local musicians. I'm hoping to get out on Saturday, so look for me in a JazzRochester t-shirt (I'm taking orders if you're interested). 

The CGI Rochester International Jazz Festival has released its app for the 2022 Festival, which you can find out more about the app and download it for iOS and Android here. It's a great way to get your itinerary in order before the fest, which I'm starting to do (more on that later...). 

Below are the listings for live jazz (and some blues) gigs in and around Rochester for the next seven days of your life, plus those I know about through the rest of June (I'll start on July when we get to June...). Please note that I will not be adding Rochester International Jazz Festival appearances by local jazz musicians in these listings post. As in the past, I will do a special preview post prior to the festival that will bring together all of the appearances at RIJF by local jazz musicians and groups, but will otherwise detail the gigs outside the festival for those who won't be appearing.
